Meet Marieke Eyskoot
Marieke Eyskoot is a sustainable lifestyle expert. She puts contemporary, conscious living on the map. Marieke is a sought-after (TEDx)speaker, consultant and event presenter. She hosts events for organisations such as Milieudefensie / Friends of the Earth, Fairtrade International, World Food Day, ASN Bank, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and many more. Marieke wrote bestselling modern handbook 'This is a Good Guide - for a sustainable lifestyle', filled with practical and positive tips regarding fair fashion, clean beauty, real food, eco travel and a low-impact home. With 20 years of experience, Marieke has an extensive global ethical network. She's worked for the Clean Clothes Campaign (to improve working conditions in the global garment industry) and is co-founder of international fair fashion trade show MINT. She's featured in several top-women lists, was nominated as Amsterdam Citizen of the Year and for many media, she is the go-to person for all things sustainable. Marieke has initiated worldwide movement #SustainabilityAgainstShame and is fond of feminism, taboo-breaking and reading out loud.
Meet Aafke Eppinga
Hi! My name is Aafke and I will be your 'razende reporter' for the Youth for Climate Adaption Conference. Loosely translated, 'razende reporter' means as much as rushing reporter. Now I'm not sure if that's a used term in English, but I think it sums up my role on the 22nd of January quite well. I'll be running/biking through Groningen to make sure you can catch most of the offline part of this event. Activities like this are the reason I chose to do a master in Journalism at the University of Groningen and I couldn't be more excited to be rushing through the 22nd of January for you guys.
